Just an hour drive from the Slovenian border you can visit some coastal Italian cities, popular mainly due to its long sandy beaches. If you are there in the summer, you will probably feel like you are in a cane of sardines. But in the autumn and winter months, the story is completely different – the city is practically deserted and on the beach you can meet just a local fisherman or some visitors. Lignano is one of the places that you can visit and if you eliminate that concrete jungle right next to the beach, you can have an interesting afternoon. Especially if you’re 5 years old. 🙂
