V poletnih mesecih smo najraje doma. In ne me narobe razumet.

In the summer months we prefer to stay in Slovenia. And I really don’t know why would we travel in this time of the year. We can take advantage of any free time to explore Slovenian towns, we can hike in the mountains and enjoy in various activities offered by our magical Slovenia. But according to the latest debates some places in Slovenia will not be available for free anymore. At Bohinj lake you can paddle if you pay for it. Roads to Mangart and meadows above Bohinj are also not free. But according to latest info we will have to pay also to get to Pokljuka, maybe Vršič or to visit Triglav national park. And do not get me wrong. I agree that it is necessary to regulate things, possibly to set quotas for certain places, maybe also apply entry fee to visit our national park. But only, if after that things would improve and be organized similar to lets say national parks in USA (based on our experiences the american model is not bad at all). But if you look through the window and see what’s happening daily in Slovenia and look at the events that we are witnessing every day, it’s probably just an illusion. The collected money would instead for investment in protected areas likely to be spent for “more important” things. Well, despite all the fees that are obviously waiting for us, we will still have some toll free mountains and hills. One of them, right along the border of TNP are Možic and Slatnik. Amazing panoramic hills rising to the south of Bohinjska Bistrica offer views from sea to Ljubljana and Karavanke mountains on the other side. And when you stand on them you quickly realize how small our tiny Slovenia is. 🙂 We recommend it.
