In zadnjih nekaj dni je bilo epskih. In tokrat ni bilo krivo moje fotografiranje. Vrhunsko. 🙂 Zapestje zlomljeno a že operirano in poravnano s šraufi in ploščicami. 🙂 Vzemite Coris – mi smo bili z njihovimi storitvami zelo zadovoljni.

The photo above is the last photo from our family journey in Asia. And the last few days were epic. We spent them in a remote valley a few kilometers from the town of Tagong, at an altitude of around 4000 meters. Surrounded by yaks, wolves, maybe even snow leopards. And with spectacular views. The last evening the views were the best – like holy mountain Yala would know that we are going to leave tomorrow – to a real hell. And this time the accident didn’t happen because of my photo trips. It happened because of the ladder between the floors that was repositioned one day before from the owner and not secured properly. I just remember how I step on it and a second later I was lying more then 3 meters bellow where I landed on my side and my head. The first seconds after the accident were horrible – I was just laying there, thinking that this is my final place. Because I knew that civilization and first aid was simply too far. In the minutes that followed I was under enormous adrenaline slowly checking every part of the body. I immediately saw that my hand is broken. But I was more worried because of the unbearable pain at my spine. Everything that happened after that is a bit foggy. Because the ambulance did not want to come to the place of the accident, they uploaded me in a car and we slowly drove on rough roads in the direction of the nearest hospital in the town of Kangding (4h drive). Luckily the hospital agreed to sent an ambulance, but it was just because slovenian embassy gave them a call. Episode in the hospital was just a farce. When they were moving me from one bed to another on CT, x ray…, a gentleman in the gray leather jacket helped doctor and a nurse. Later we found out that this guy was only visiting a relative and because he was bored, he just helped doctors with urgent tasks. After that they re-positioned my hand in chinese way – no painkillers, nothing – we found out that it’s the same when women have abortion. I also remember the moment when my doctor explained me about that dangerous bleeding in my lungs and that maybe they have knowledge how to make a surgery to stop it. At that moment, I saw one local with 2 live chichens in plastic bags, that he was carrying in the hospital room. In this hospital you have to cook for yourself so fresh chicken soup is a good solution. 🙂 The days that followed were full of disappointments and complications. And when we were practically completely without any solutions, we managed to see the light at the end of this story also because of you. So I would like to thank you for all contacts of people, who were willing to help us, that you sent to us. A big thank you to Kris and his family from Zhilam hostel in Kangding, who took after Jaka at the day of the accident. Thank you, Angela, David, LaiHuan and Rita for your amazing help in Kangding and Chengdu – without you it would be mission impossible. I would especially like to thank Ms. Irena from the Slovenian Embassy in Beijing – from the bottom of my heart I am grateful for everything she has done for us. And what is the current situation? Great. 🙂 Broken wrist was already under surgery. Broken ribs are painful like hell and because of that I am not really ready for movies like Dumb and Dumber. And luckily bleeding in the lungs has also finished. And one more thing – don’t save with insurance when you travel. 🙂 We had Coris and we were very satisfied.
