Ob našem obisku so bile ravnice polne življenja. Kraj z neko posebno energijo. 😉

Usually when we think about Durmitor, we imagine mountain views. But for me the best part of it were vast grassy plains south of Žabljak. Just a few miles of driving from the city, we got the feeling as if we were coming to another continent, to the Mongolian grassy steppes, or to the vast grassy areas that surround the historic Silk Road of Asia. The views were fantastic, especially to the north, where you can admire also the dramatic peaks of the mountain range on the horizon. At the time of our visit, the plains were full of life. On one side a large flocks of sheep, on the other friendly shepherds. The chat with the elderly gentleman, who took care of his few cows, was unforgettable. When I asked him if there was anything new, he told me in a funny style that not much. Since Einstein the world is still waiting for a breakthrough in chemistry, physics … When he switched to economics, I just watched him silently. 🙂 Well, in the end he gave me a lesson also about us Slovenians. That we are a nice, but quite funny nation. That Prešeren is OK, but we have many other writers, poets, who are several times better. Murn, Kette … I was speechless again 🙂 The real pearl of the grassy landscape is the Devil’s Lake, which is truly magical. And close to it, there is another special place – Bogumil stečci or tombstones, that are positioned on a perfect small hill with amazing views and maybe also special energy. 😉
